is a 21-bed facility, which
includes Acute, Chronic, OBS, Chemotherapy, Physiotherapy,
Telehealth, Visiting Specialists (Ophthalmology, Chiropodist,
Hearing Clinic), Diabetes Education, and Dietitian. We also
have the VON Office (Victorian Order of Nurses), CCAC Office
(Community Care Access Centre), as well as the Coordinator
of the Northshore District Laboratory Program on-site.
Marathon is situated approximately 350 km east of Thunder Bay, and 400 km west
of Sault Ste. Marie. We service the areas of Marathon, Heron Bay, Pic
River, Mobert, and White River with excellent medical care. This
accomplishment is due not only to the quality of medical staff, but also to
the high quality of the support staff. Their training, experience and
individual skills enable this hospital to meet the challenges the future
brings.
Wilson Memorial has recently completed an extensive renovation
project which has added to our Chronic Care Wing, as well
as the addition of a Chronic Care Dining Room, activity area,
and approximately 40% more floor space to the hospital. This
renovation included the expansion of a second floor, which
houses the Administration Department, as well as the Board
Rooms, Physiotherapy Department, as well as all Community
Office Spaces.
