Water Safety

Never leave children alone in or near the water, even for a minute. Watch children with care at all times.

Water Safety Tips

  • Teach your child to swim and make sure they are aware of hazards surrounding them.
  • Adults should take turns being "child watchers" when children are swimming. Do not let your child play around water without adult supervision (even if he/she is a good swimmer).
  • Older children and teens shouldn't swim alone. They should use a 'buddy' system by always swimming with a friend, preferably in areas that are supervised by a lifeguard.
  • Don’t allow running or rough play around the water.
