Sun Protection

Infants and children are particularly susceptible to harmful rays from the sun. When you are outside with your child, protect them from overexposure to the sun. Children should wear hats to protect their heads and sunglasses to block the ultraviolet rays.

Sun Safe Tips

  • Limit exposure to the sun when it is at its strongest (10 a.m. - 4 p.m.)
  • Use sunscreen daily, even if it is cloudy, since most of the sun's radiation penetrates through clouds and can still cause sunburns.
  • Make sure your child drinks plenty of water to prevent dehydration.
