				    ReadPlease Aboriginal Life Long Care Program ensures the development and provision of culturally appropriate community support services and/or ensures access to professional support services. There is particular focus on the needs of Aboriginal seniors, the disabled and the chronically ill with special needs. Transportation for medical appointments can be arranged for a chronically ill patient.

Anishnawbe Mushkiki serves all Aboriginal people throughout their lifecycle. They provide several clinical services including the screening and monitoring of chronic illnesses and referral services to specialists. They have a Breast Health Coordinator dedicated to the promotion of breast health and prevention of breast cancer. They also have individual and group counseling.

 

Traditional services include traditional teachings and ceremonies, access to traditional healers and elders, support and counseling from a traditional perspective and monthly healing circles. Please call for more information.

The Métis Nation of Ontario Health Services Program provides services, information and support to Métis people and their families. Services include: transportation, friendly visiting, caregiver support, security checks and Aboriginal support services.
