Prime Minister Paul Martin visited Thunder
Bay Regional Health Sciences Centre. He saw why TBRHSC
is leading in telehealth strategies. Taken to a telehealth
studio, he accompanied two physicians in Thunder Bay as
a patient, with a physician in Timmins, demonstrated how
specialists, even though hundreds of kilometers away,
can provide excellent diagnostic, consultative, and assessment
care. Using this technology, patients no longer have to
travel long distances and incur great expense to receive
care. |
