 Today,
Mr. Gordon Nixon, President and Chief Executive Officer of
the Royal Bank of Canada emphasized the importance of medical
research and innovation in Northwestern Ontario.
“What Thunder Bay Regional Health Services Centre and
the Research Institute are achieving now - and want to achieve
in the future - is the kind of success Canada needs more of,
right across our country. It’s a story about leading
edge research transformed into commercial success. ”
Mr. Nixon was hosted by Murray Walberg Regional Vice President,
Northwestern Ontario, as well as the Board of the Thunder
Bay Regional Research Institute (TBRRI).
Today, Mr. Nixon is the keynote speaker for TBRRI’s
Annual General Meeting which kicked off at 3 p.m. at Thunder
Bay Community Auditorium.

success is due to tremendous collaboration and partnership
with government, the business sector, the health care sector,
other arenas of learning like Lakehead University, and research

“Today we are celebrating our 4th Annual General Meeting
for TBRRI. We are honoured that Mr. Gordon Nixon was able
to join us on this momentous occasion. His support for medical
