Held at the Celebrating Innovations in Health Care Expo in Toronto, TBRHSC won in the “Meeting Community Needs Through Integrated Care” category.

Lori Marshall is Vice-President, Medicine, Cardiology, Mental Health and Maternal/Child at Thunder Bay Regional Health Sciences Centre. She stated, “we are thrilled to receive the recognition and award as our goal was to establish cost-effective access to care, and remove barriers that may prevent timely access to care.

There are a lot of people to thank for the success of this Cardiac Rehabilitation Program including the Ontario Telemedicine Network, Lakehead University, all the supportive staff in our facility as well as at sites in the region. We are grateful to the patients and families who continue to embrace this Program to guarantee success. It is ‘care closer to home’ in every way possible. We are delighted to share this award with all of our partners”.
