 North
of Superior Programs is an agency which delivers a variety
of services to the communities of the Thunder Bay District
East. This includes the communities bordered by Marathon/Manitouwadge,
Schreiber/Terrace Bay, Nipigon, Geraldton/Longlac and all
the catchment areas for these communities. There is also a
special contract for service provision to the residents of
the fly-in community of Marten Falls First Nation, Ogoki Post.
Psychiatric service on a regular basis (usually every 4-6 weeks) provided by visiting psychiatrists. This service is coordinated by Dr. David O’Donnell through the University of Western Ontario. The psychiatrists provide office-based psychiatric services to clients as well as professional consultation to the staff of North of Superior Programs.
Network Groups of local Service Providers including information exchange, education, collaboration and advocacy.
In conjunction with other service providers for the Critical Incident Stress Debriefing team (Thunder Bay North East District).
- Voluntary service to adults and children, victims, and perpetrators, juvenile and adult offenders as a result of court orders.
- Special privileges at five municipal hospitals for worker to attend an individual for assessment/counselling.
- Service partnerships with the Associations for Community Living in Geraldton and Nipigon.
- Service partnerships with Nipigon District Memorial Hospital for Long Term Care clients.
- Service to women’s crisis homes, and home care workers.
