Reporting to the Director of Medical Services, you will be
responsible for providing quality nursing care to patients
including complex patient populations whose outcomes are not
predictable. As part of a multidisciplinary health care team,
you will practice within the Standards of the College of Nurses
of Ontario, the Philosophy and Values of Nursing Services
and the policies of the Health Sciences Centre.
Applicants should have the following qualifications:
- Current registration as a Registered Nurse with the
College of Nurses of Ontario
- Current certification in BCLS
- Two years recent experience in Medical Nursing with
a focus on renal and stroke patient populations
- As a proposed designated position under the French
Language Policy (HR-esa-12), Level 2 - French Language skills
are required.
In addition, applicants must have skill and experience
in the following elements of nursing practice:
- Physical Assessment
- Intravenous Therapy and Intravenous Initiation
- Central Venous Line Management
- Aseptic Technique and Body Substance Precautions
- Practicing as a partner on multidisciplinary teams
- Patient and family teaching
- Critical thinking, problem solving and conflict resolution
